Common Core Math Videos

Understand multi-digit whole number place value concepts
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 / 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
 
Read, write, and compare multi-digit whole numbers
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
 
Round multi-digit whole numbers to any place
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.

Week of March 17, 2014

Spelling
Our next spelling test will be on Friday (3/21/14). 

Math
  • Students will solve problems involving time intervals.
  • Students will draw and identify line segments and lines, including perpendicular lines, parallel lines, and lines of symmetry.
Book It
Students will be awarded a free pizza through the Book It! program for completion.

Week of March 10, 2014

Spelling

The spelling list was passed out today.  Our next spelling test will be on Friday, March 21, 2014. 

Math

Students will multiply fractions and whole numbers.
Students will problems involving intervals of time.

 Book It

Students should complete a Book Summary of a book that they have read during the month of March.  Students will be awarded a free pizza through the Book It! program for completion.  The Book Summary paper is due on March 31, 2014.  However, students may turn in their Book Summary early.
